The Suwon – Inchon narrow gauge line: Suwon to Ansan (Part 2: Omokcheon to Ansan Outskirts) Korean narrow gauge July 12, 2013February 2, 2018 Ivo Spanjersberg1142Leave a Comment on The Suwon – Inchon narrow gauge line: Suwon to Ansan (Part 2: Omokcheon to Ansan Outskirts) Turn around and you can see the KTX (high speed) line. In May 2011 the tracks were still in situ here, but in 2013 from this point onwards almost all tracks had disappeared. The nice thing about this point is that many KTX trains (both KTX1 and KTX2) pass overhead. This is a KTX2, probably coming from Mokpo. Some tracks can still be seen near the KTX bridge, but shortly after this point the construction of the new subway line is in full swing. In 2011 the line could still be seen here, but today the new track bed is being constructed for the new Suin Line. A modern railway line needs a lot more space than a simple narrow gauge line from the past! The KTX bridge seen from the west (looking east, towards Suwon). Not too long ago the tracks must have been here, but this is all that is left now. Still further away from the KTX bridge between원평리 (Wonpyeonri) and 매송 (Maesong). But then near매송 (Maesong) the track picks up again. A bridge is the first part of the line still in situ walking to the west. Pages: 1 2 3 4
